ABOUT

For years, I’d been collecting photographs of spectacular landscapes, destinations and scenery, living vicariously through the eyes of photographers who spent plenty of time outdoors capturing places and moments across this fantastic planet of ours.  I imagined that some day I would travel to these places and capture moments of my own.  I just never imagined that it would involve quitting my job, selling ‘everything’ and traveling there by bicycle!

Although full time exploring of the world via bicycle is romantic, challenging and rewarding, the reality is that I spend most of my time here in Albuquerque training and riding in many of the regional bicycle events and helping others to do the same.

Four Corners Monument was one of the first stops on My Bucket List Tour.  4500 miles and 4.5 months later, I ran out of steam after crossing Death Valley and hitched a ride home from Las Vegas, NV.

My Bucket List Tour 2.0 brought over six months on the road and 6500 miles, including much of western Canada and the length of Baja California!

Eager to get on the dirt, I flew to Canada and rode back south on The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route.  My first grizzly sighting had me using bear spray for the first time too!  62 days later, our little group reached the Mexico border.

Fueled by a desire to complete the Bikepacking Triple Crown (Great Divide MTB Route, Arizona Trail, and Colorado Trail), I set off to ride the AZT solo.  After pushing my bike for most of the first two days, I was dead set on simply completing this personal challenge.  Although the rim to rim Grand Canyon crossing was an enjoyable break, the entire experience was Type 3 fun for sure!

Recently, I've been interested in completing more pieces of my overall tour of the Americas.  In 2017, I left off in Cancun, Mexico after spending 4 months exploring Mexico, Belize and Guatemala.

And the adventure continues...

In 2017, Rosalie Rayburn of the Albuquerque Journal did a nice article about my adventures.  Click on their logo to the right.
